Job Description
Job Title: Cyber Security Specialist Role Summary: Provide NIST SP 800‑53/800‑171 aligned cybersecurity program support for a precision aerospace & defense contract manufacturer, ensuring CMMC audit readiness, vulnerability mitigation, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) protection. Expectations: Deliver policy development, audit readiness, and user training within a 6‑month contract; work independently, managing multiple security initiatives in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: - Lead planning, preparation, and implementation of cybersecurity policies and procedures for CMMC compliance. - Conduct vulnerability assessments across IT infrastructure, shop automation, and network security. - Mitigate identified risks and coordinate remediation efforts. - Train end users, shop‑floor staff, and office personnel on secure handling of CUI. - Produce comprehensive documentation, policy drafts, and audit support materials. - Participate in security and general IT audits, maintaining readiness for NIST‑based reviews. Required Skills: - Deep knowledge of NIST SP 800‑53 and SP 800‑171 controls. - Strong project management and documentation capabilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. - Ability to train staff and communicate complex security concepts. - Autonomous work style with minimal supervision. Preferred Skills: - Prior engagement in IT and security auditing. - Familiarity with CMMC audit processes. Required Education & Certifications: - 7+ years of IT experience, 2+ years of cybersecurity experience. - Relevant cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISA, CompTIA Security+/Network+ preferred).
