Job title Director of Revenues & Transactional Services Role Summary Lead the Revenue and Transactional Services Directorate to deliver high‑quality, resident‑focused services. Shape corporate strategy, oversee budgeting and resource allocation, manage financial risks, and drive performance improvement across the organization. Expectations - Align directorate objectives with council strategic goals and statutory requirements. - Demonstrate political astuteness and strong communication skills to influence stakeholders. - Champion inclusive, customer‑centric outcomes and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership – Provide clear direction, inspire teams, and deliver high‑impact results across the directorate and council. 2. Corporate Strategy & Planning – Contribute to the development of corporate strategies and statutory goals, ensuring they reflect community needs. 3. Financial Oversight – Manage budgeting processes, resource allocation, value‑for‑money assessment, risk monitoring, and mitigation strategies. 4. Service Delivery – Plan, commission, and deliver services; drive performance improvement, maintain service standards, and address underperformance. Required Skills - Strategic thinking and vision setting. - Senior leadership and team‑management experience in a complex organization. - Political acumen and ability to navigate stakeholder dynamics. - Excellent oral and written communication. - Strong budgeting, financial analysis, and risk management capabilities. - Performance improvement and change‑leadership skills. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Public Administration or related field (advanced degree preferred). - Minimum of 10 years’ senior leadership experience, preferably within the public sector or local government. - Understanding of local government statutory frameworks and financial regulations.
