**Job Title**: Senior DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud‑native infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for a large, multi‑region agency. Own automation, security, and tooling for efficient software delivery across development teams, ensuring high availability, scalability, and compliance within AWS environments.
**Expactations**
- 7+ years in infrastructure, development, or operations.
- Deep experience building and managing cloud‑native services (AWS, Terraform, IaC).
- Proven ability to automate workloads, secure architecture, and drive best practices across a distributed team.
- Strong collaboration with developers, project managers, and QA; comfortable working in Scrum/Agile settings.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, or equivalents.
- Automate provisioning and configuration of AWS services (RDS, EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, API Gateway, IAM, Cognito, Okta, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Maintain 24/7 availability, monitor performance, and optimize cost and security.
- Lead 50% of effort in automating systems and processes, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct proofs of concept, evaluate new tools, and recommend tech stack expansions while controlling delivery risk.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and application incidents, document root causes, and implement preventative measures.
- Mentor and coach development teams on DevOps best practices and tooling adoption.
- Engage in continuous research of emerging DevOps solutions, regulations, and industry trends.
**Required Skills**
- CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy).
- IaC experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and scripting (Python, Bash).
- AWS ecosystem proficiency (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, API Gateway, IAM, Cognito, Okta, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudWatch).
- Networking fundamentals: CIDR, subnets, routing, VPN, firewall.
- Configuration management (Chef, Salt, Puppet).
- Agile/Scrum methodology familiarity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teams.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional (preferred).
- Terraform Associate certification (preferred).
