Group Automation Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Group Automation Engineer Role Summary: Lead and execute enterprise‑wide automation initiatives for a European food manufacturing network, driving standardization, scalability, and digital integration of automated systems. Expactations: * Define and maintain a cohesive automation strategy aligned with long‑term factory and digitalization goals. * Deliver measurable improvements in operational performance, reliability, and safety across all sites. * Foster collaboration across engineering, maintenance, IT, and operations to ensure seamless technology adoption. Key Responsibilities: • Develop group‑wide automation roadmap and harmonize standards and architectures. • Partner with IT to secure data integration and infrastructure support. • Lead cross‑site automation projects and drive best‑practice implementation. • Provide hands‑on technical expertise for design, implementation, troubleshooting, and upgrades. • Mentor local teams, share knowledge, and promote continuous improvement. • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. • Monitor KPI performance and report progress to senior leadership. Required Skills: * 5–10 years industrial automation experience (manufacturing or food production). * Strong project management and cross‑functional leadership. * Proficiency in PLC, SCADA, HMI, motion control, and related toolsets. * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement. * English fluency required; French/Dutch an advantage. * Willingness to travel within Europe. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Industrial, Process Engineering or equivalent. * Relevant certifications (e.g., PLC, SCADA, project management) preferred.
