Job Description
**Job title:** SURF Installation Engineering Service **Role Summary:** Lead technical oversight of SURF Transportation and Installation activities for a major offshore project in Suriname. Manage scope definition, contractor selection, engineering review, and execution compliance to ensure schedule, cost, quality, safety, and environmental performance. **Expectations:** - Deliver comprehensive technical solutions that align with project specifications and Total’s General and discipline requirements. - Proactively identify and mitigate risks, optimize installation sequences, and reduce costs without compromising safety or quality. - Maintain clear, timely reporting to the SURF Technical Lead and participate in project reviews and audits. **Key Responsibilities:** - Define Scope of Works and control execution during the Execution Phase. - Conduct HSE implementation and demonstrate exemplary HSE behaviour. - Propose alternative technical solutions and optimize project packages. - Prepare and participate in project reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, SPOT, PR) and safety/technical audits. - Lead the contractor selection process (RFQ, ITTs, clarifications, awards). - Supervise and validate detailed engineering documents from contractors for compliance with SOR, Company specifications, discipline requirements, international norms, and standards. - Raise comments on unsafe design, deviations, constructability, and installation issues. - Review and optimize installation sequences (SIMOPS, weather window, delivery schedules). - Interface with multi‑disciplinary engineers and other package leads to ensure consistency. - Coordinate with Suriname affiliates for offshore authorizations and ensure timely approvals. - Participate in loadouts, installation, tests, commissioning, and handover of offshore campaigns. - Ensure safe working practices across the team and on installation vessels. - Support the supervision team overseeing overall offshore activities to commissioning. **Required Skills:** - Subsea pipeline/risers engineering expertise. - 15+ years experience on deepwater installation projects (onshore/offshore). - Strong knowledge of Total Referentiel and applicable codes/standards. - HSE leadership and ability to embed safety practices. - Proactive problem‑solving, technical solution design, and process optimization. - Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities. - Ability to work effectively in complex, multicultural project environments. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Master’s degree in Engineering with specialization in subsea pipeline/risers. - Proven professional experience of at least 15 years in oil & gas deepwater installation engineering.
