Job Description
**Job Title:** End Point Assessor – Roofer (Waterproof Membrane or Sheeter & Cladder pathways) **Role Summary:** Freelance professional responsible for delivering final apprenticeship assessments for roofing candidates, including knowledge tests, on‑site observations with Q&A, and interviews. Works under NOCN’s quality‑assured framework and follows internal assessment procedures. **Expectations:** - Minimum 3 years recent, hands‑on experience in roofing (sheeter, cladder, waterproof membrane). - Active involvement in the sector within the last 10 years or demonstrable current competence through CPD. - Hold a Level 3 Assessing qualification. - Ability to conduct assessments objectively, maintain documentation, and adhere to NOCN quality standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Administer and grade the knowledge test for apprenticeship candidates. - Perform on‑site observation of practical work, conduct structured Q&A sessions. - Conduct formal interviews to assess competence and understanding. - Record, evaluate, and report assessment outcomes in line with NOCN guidelines. - Ensure compliance with internal quality assurance processes and continuous improvement requirements. - Provide constructive feedback to candidates and maintain accurate assessment records. **Required Skills:** - Deep technical knowledge of roofing systems, especially sheeter, cladder, and waterproof membrane applications. - Proficiency in competency‑based assessment and judgment of practical skills. - Strong verbal and written communication for clear feedback and reporting. - Analytical ability to interpret evidence against apprenticeship standards. - High attention to detail and integrity in documentation. - Basic IT skills for data entry and use of assessment platforms. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent Level 3 assessing qualification). - Demonstrated roofing experience (3 + years) with recent sector involvement; no specific academic degree required.
