Job Description
**Job title:** Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer **Role Summary:** Entry‑level mechanical engineering role focused on the design, analysis and documentation of medium to high voltage power transformers. The position is part of a two‑year graduate scheme that combines on‑the‑job learning with academic development, working primarily from an office environment and supporting client site visits. **Expactations:** - Complete the structured graduate program beginning September 2026. - Develop proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and related design tools. - Produce accurate technical drawings, calculations and specifications for transformer components. - Participate in design review meetings and support engineering teams on live projects. - Maintain high standards of documentation, quality control and safety compliance. **Key Responsibilities:** - Learn and utilize engineering design software (Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD). - Prepare, review and verify technical drawings and documentation. - Attend and contribute to internal design review meetings. - Shadow qualified engineers on project tasks and live projects. - Join engineers on client site visits and meetings to gather requirements and provide technical input. - Assist with engineering calculations, drawing production, and specification development. - Support general office activities including document management and information flow. **Required Skills:** - Strong verbal and written communication. - Comfortable working with numerical data and technical measurements. - Organized, methodical, and detail‑oriented approach. - Effective time‑management and reliability. - Logical thinking and problem‑solving capabilities. - Ability to work across office, site, and academic settings. **Required Education & Certifications:** - BEng (Hons) or MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering. - Minimum GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in core subjects. ---
