Job Description
Job Title: Health & Safety Manager Role Summary: Lead the HSE functions for a new build converter station within an offshore wind farm. Oversee all health and safety planning, execution, and compliance from pre-construction through operational hand‑over, ensuring the site meets statutory and contract requirements. Expectations: - Deliver full HSE management for a 12‑month contract (start 19 Jan 2026). - Work as a limited company contractor; hourly rate £45 plus travel. - Join the project at an early stage and establish a robust safety framework. Key Responsibilities: - Attend client meetings and represent HSE interests. - Develop, implement, and update the HSE plan. - Conduct and manage site inspections and HSE audits. - Prepare, review, and maintain Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS). - Liaise with contractors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement. Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, HSE legislative frameworks, and offshore wind industry standards. - Proven experience in HSE planning, inspections, audits, and risk assessment. - Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report‑writing skills. - Ability to work independently and deliver under tight deadlines. - Proficient in HSE information management systems. Required Education & Certifications: - Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Environmental Health, or related discipline (preferred). - Accredited HSE qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH International General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent).
