**Job Title:** Category Manager – Sweaters **Role Summary:** Lead the end‑to‑end category lifecycle for sweaters, aligning design vision with business objectives. Drive sourcing strategy, production workflow, and cost management while building and coaching a high‑performance team. Deliver on forecast, margin, and delivery deadlines across global suppliers and operations. **Expectations:** - Consistently meet or exceed category line‑plan style counts and IMU targets. - Maintain forecast accuracy, cost savings, and supplier performance metrics. - Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration and agile response to shifts in market and production. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Sourcing Strategy:** Create and manage monthly factory forecasts, annual mill strategies, and vendor relationships; book early fabric commitments; analyze industry trends to mitigate supply risks. - **Product Development Blueprint:** Coordinate calendars, trend meetings, and line‑plan actualization; manage commitments and order placements. - **Production Work‑in‑Process:** Calculate and monitor rolling/final IMUs; negotiate final vendor costing to secure margins; strategize freight modes for distribution efficiency. - **Team Development & Management:** Build effective teams, coach staff on creative solutions, lead change initiatives, and support global expansion efforts. - **Quality & Sample Control:** Ensure aesthetically correct samples meet design and merchant requirements; uphold pre‑production schedules. - **Operational Efficiency:** Implement process improvements; drive cost reductions; manage delivery and liability logistics. **Required Skills:** - Proven leadership and team‑building in fast‑paced environments. - Expertise in sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost analysis. - Strong forecasting, trend analysis, and production planning capabilities. - Effective cross‑functional collaboration with design, merchandising, and sourcing teams. - Problem‑solving mindset, urgency orientation, and adaptability to change. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion, Supply Chain Management, or related field. - Professional certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP, APICS) preferred but not mandatory.
