Job Description

Job Title Data Engineer – Data Migration (9‑Month FTC) Role Summary Lead the migration of legacy data to a modern SaaS platform, ensuring accurate, clean, and complete data transfer. Work hands‑on with data pipelines, scripts, and validation processes to support business continuity. Expectations - Deliver a successful migration within the 9‑month contract window. - Maintain high data quality and integrity throughout the process. - Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to understand data requirements and usage. - Document migration logic, mapping, and validation results for future reference. Key Responsibilities - Analyse legacy datasets for structure, quality, and relevance. - Design, develop, and execute ETL pipelines and scripts to extract, transform, and load data into the new system. - Create mapping documents aligning legacy fields to target platform schema. - Perform data cleansing, deduplication, and validation checks. - Troubleshoot data discrepancies, log issues, and implement fixes. - Coordinate with business partners to verify data meaning and usage post‑migration. - Maintain version control and documentation of all migration artifacts. - Provide status updates and risk assessments to project leads. Required Skills - Strong ETL and data pipeline development experience. - Proficiency in SQL, Python, or equivalent scripting languages. - Experience with data migration tools and techniques. - Detail‑oriented with a focus on data accuracy and consistency. - Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions. - Problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot data issues and ensure resolution. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. - Experience with property management systems (e.g., MRI Horizon) is highly preferred. - Relevant certifications in data management or ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend) are a plus.
