Job Description

Job Title: Financial Controller Role Summary: Lead and oversee all finance operations for a rapidly growing consumer brand, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and strategic financial guidance to senior leadership. Expactations: Deliver timely and reliable financial statements, manage cash flow, and provide insightful analysis to support business decisions; maintain compliance and audit readiness; drive continuous improvement in financial processes and technology. Key Responsibilities: - Manage day‑to‑day finance functions (AP, AR, reconciliations, GL maintenance). - Lead month‑end close, preparing P&L, balance sheet, cash‑flow forecasts, and management commentary. - Analyse performance vs. budgets, highlighting revenue and cost drivers. - Oversee short‑term cash‑flow forecasting and reserve management. - Prepare annual budgets, periodic estimates, and coordinate departmental inputs. - Administer payroll, authorise payment runs, and transition approvals. - Coordinate year‑end audit processes and act as primary contact for auditors. - Prepare and submit all tax filings (VAT, duty) and maintain tax compliance. - Manage relationships with external advisors, banks, insurers, and maintain company secretarial duties. - Handle shareholder relations, EMI schemes, and related reporting. - Execute ad‑hoc financial analysis and support business expansion initiatives. - Maintain and evolve internal controls, and recommend process improvements. Required Skills: - Certified accountant (ACA/ACCA). - Experience as Financial Controller in a fast‑growing SME. - Strong analytical, planning, and project‑management abilities. - Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, Xero, and Unleashed. - Excellent communication skills, able to translate detailed data into executive insights. - Technologically adept, data‑driven mindset, and continuous improvement focus. - Resilience, prioritisation, and a proactive, results‑oriented attitude. Required Education & Certifications: - ACA or ACCA qualification. - Minimum of 5 years’ finance experience, with at least 2 years in a controller role within a high‑growth environment.
