Plant & Fleet Solutions support our frontline operations by providing compliant, innovative and fit-for-purpose Vehicles, Plant and Equipment, whilst reviewing new market developments and products that help meet our Safety, Sustainability and Operational Efficiency Objectives.

Our focus is upon providing quality support to our customers to enable them to maximise productivity through the provision of relevant specialist equipment, maintenance and support. All of the equipment and vehicles that we supply are procured with the sole intention of them being used in group related activities, allowing us to focus on the specifications and particular requirements of the group.

We currently provide a comprehensive fleet of over 5,500 trucks, vans and cars, together with over 15,000 items of general plant and specialist utilities equipment from our Regional Supply Centres.

Job Title: Cable Jointer Role Summary: Perform cable termination, jointing, and installation work on 11 kV/33 kV distribution networks. Operate high‑voltage switchgear, transformers, and earthing systems. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, permit‑to‑work systems, and asset standards. Provide on‑the‑spot technical support and mentoring to apprentices and junior staff. Key Responsibilities: - Execute indoor/outdoor cable terminations using Raychem 11 kV/33 kV systems. - Joint XLPE to XLPE and XLPE to PILC cable splices; dress and cleat above‑ground terminations. - Install and maintain bus bars, disconnectors, and switchgear. - Prepare and review safety documentation; act as a competent person. - Travel to multiple sites, maintaining reliable connections across Hertfordshire and surrounding counties. - Mentor apprentices and less experienced employees. Required Skills: - High manual dexterity and precision with cable installation tools. - Proven experience in Inner Cone, T‑Boot, and XLPE/PILC jointing. - Knowledge of 11 kV/33 kV cable termination procedures. - Ability to read and interpret manuals, asset standards, and technical drawings. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. Required Education & Certifications: - NVQ Level 3 in Electrical discipline or equivalent apprenticeship completion. - Competent Person certification for safety documentation. - Valid UK clean driving licence.

**Job Title** Team Leader – Water & Wastewater Capital Projects **Role Summary** Lead a field team responsible for repair and maintenance work on a municipal water network. Manage day‑to‑day operations, ensure compliance with the Street Works Redbook and environmental standards, and coordinate with customers, office staff, and project supervisors to support long‑term capital programme delivery. **Expectations** - Deliver safe, high‑quality maintenance outcomes within schedule and budget. - Prioritise safety, environmental compliance, and customer service. - Work flexible hours, including standby and overtime, as project demands. - Maintain accurate records, documentation and reporting. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Lead, coach and manage a team of technicians performing network repairs and preventive maintenance. 2. Plan daily work, allocate resources, and ensure adherence to safety and Redbook procedures. 3.
