**Job Title:** Contract Director
**Role Summary:**
Senior executive responsible for leading the strategic and operational delivery of water & wastewater capital contracts. Owns revenue, profitability, cash‑flow, and performance outcomes while ensuring safety, quality, and employee engagement meet world‑class standards. Drives client relationships, new business opportunities, and continuous improvement across the contract portfolio.
**Expectations:**
- Achieve margin, cash‑flow, and operational KPIs aligned with corporate strategy.
- Maintain excellence in SHEQW (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Well‑being) and behavioural safety.
- Lead, coach, and develop high‑performance contract teams.
- Secure and grow client relationships, delivering customer‑centric outcomes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Define and execute contract strategy, revenue, and profitability targets.
2. Monitor and report on cash‑flow, cost control, and operational KPIs.
3. Ensure full compliance with SHEQW policies, statutory law, and contractual obligations.
4. Lead team development, succession planning, and engagement initiatives.
5. Drive growth through existing client retention and identification of new business opportunities.
6. Oversee contract compliance, resource allocation, and performance improvement.
7. Champion health, safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement culture.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven senior‑level leadership with coaching and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record of improving contract profitability.
- Client‑management and business‑development expertise.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influence skills at executive level.
- In‑depth knowledge of SHEQW policies and procedures.
- Understanding of contract law, statutory frameworks, and employment law.
- Strategic thinking, analytical decision‑making, and problem‑solving aptitude.
- Ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Degree or equivalent qualification in construction, engineering, utilities, or a business‑related discipline (desirable).
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer, Chartered Manager, CE, CPE, ACCA, PMP, PRINCE2).
