Job Description: **Job title**: Junior Backend Software Engineer **Role Summary**: Build and maintain scalable backend services supporting AI-driven facial analysis. Work with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines; collaborate with product, frontend, and senior engineers to deliver robust, high‑performance APIs. **Expectations**: Fast‑paced learning curve, ownership of code, frequent shipping of new features, proactive problem‑solving, continuous improvement of system reliability and performance. **Key Responsibilities**: - Design, implement, and test RESTful endpoints in Python/ FastAPI. - Integrate services with PostgreSQL and Supabase for authentication and storage. - Contribute to AI‑related features using LangChain or similar frameworks. - Maintain clean, documented code and participate in CI/CD pipelines (Docker, GitHub). - Collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver seamless user experiences. - Monitor and optimise system reliability, scalability, and performance. **Required Skills**: - Strong programming fundamentals in Python. - Familiarity with web frameworks (FastAPI or equivalent). - Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL). - Basic knowledge of containerization (Docker) and source control (Git). - Willingness to learn and quickly adopt AI tooling and new technologies. - Excellent communication and teamwork. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
