Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer (Staff)
Role Summary
Staff-level senior DevOps Engineer responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing the infrastructure that supports Blue Yonder’s cloud‑based supply chain solutions. Works at the intersection of software development and operations, leading automation initiatives, improving CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring junior engineers.
Expectations
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (no work‑visa sponsorship).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in DevOps, software engineering, or related fields.
- Proven track record of leading large‑scale automation and infrastructure projects.
- Willingness to travel to Washington, DC office once per month (remote‑first role).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, & maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Build and refine CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and operational tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Manage containerized workloads on Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve high‑complexity incidents in development, testing, and production.
- Mentor and coach junior DevOps staff, establishing best practices.
- Coordinate release activities, ensuring quality gates and smooth deployments.
- Produce and analyze performance metrics and operational reports.
- Collaborate with performance engineering, documentation, and architecture teams to enhance installation and customer experience.
- Stay current with Agile methodologies, DevOps trends, and security best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python).
- Experience with automation/offict orchestration (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
- Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Cloud platform expertise: AWS, Azure, GCP; deep knowledge of IaC.
- Version control mastery (Git) and CI/CD pipeline design.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and mentoring abilities.
- Passion for continuous learning and process improvement.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or equivalent are desirable but not mandatory.
