**Job Title**
IT – Sr Systems Engineer (OpenStack and Nutanix)
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, deployment, and operation of OpenStack cloud and Nutanix hyper‑converged infrastructure. Ensure high availability, performance, and security of cloud services, automate routine tasks, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align technology with business objectives.
**Expectations**
- 6–9 years of progressive systems engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in OpenStack and Nutanix platforms, Linux administration, and automation.
- Proven problem‑solving ability in dynamic, large‑scale environments.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Self‑driven with a focus on continuous improvement and best practices.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Deploy, configure, and maintain OpenStack and Nutanix AHV environments.
2. Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and enforce high‑availability policies.
3. Design scalable solutions, perform capacity planning, and execute upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance.
4. Automate infrastructure management with Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi, Bash, and Python scripts.
5. Ensure compliance with security standards, implement data protection controls, and monitor for vulnerabilities.
6. Produce and maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge‑sharing artifacts.
7. Collaborate with DevOps, network, and application teams to integrate infrastructure with application requirements.
**Required Skills**
- OpenStack architecture, deployment, and day‑to‑day operations.
- Nutanix AHV, Prism Central, and related management tools.
- Linux system administration; Bash and Python scripting proficiency.
- Virtualization technologies (KVM, hyper‑visors) and container platforms (Kubernetes).
- Networking fundamentals: VLANs, SDN, load balancing, routing, and firewalling.
- Monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Nagios, or equivalent tools.
- Infrastructure automation: Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative mindset.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6–9 years of relevant experience in cloud or hyper‑converged infrastructure.
- Certifications preferred: OpenStack Certified Administrator (OSA), Nutanix Certified Professional – Implementation (NCP‑MCI), or equivalent.
