Job Description
**Job Title:** Unity Developer Intern **Role Summary:** Support the design and development of interactive educational games using Unity, collaborating with full‑stack and design teams to deliver scalable, high‑performance experiences that advance the mission of reducing educational inequality. **Expectations:** - Attend the Edinburgh office at least three days per week. - Deliver clean, maintainable C# code aligned with project requirements. - Communicate progress and challenges proactively within cross‑functional teams. - Contribute to testing, debugging, and documentation throughout the development cycle. **Key Responsibilities:** - Convert creative and functional specs into efficient Unity implementations (2D/3D). - Develop gameplay mechanics, UI interactions, animations, and prefabs. - Perform unit and integration testing; resolve performance and stability issues across platforms. - Document technical processes, code structures, and implementation decisions. - Collaborate with designers and developers to integrate assets and refine user experience. - Stay current with Unity best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in C# and Unity engine (2D or 3D workflows). - Familiarity with Unity UI systems, animation, prefabs, and scene management. - Strong problem‑solving and written/oral communication abilities. - Ability to work on a laptop capable of running Unity. - Enthusiasm for educational games and socially impactful technology. **Preferred (but not essential) Skills:** - Experience with AR Foundation or mobile game development. - Knowledge of Git or other version‑control systems. - Understanding of Agile or collaborative development processes. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current student, recent graduate, or early‑career developer in Computer Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, or a related field. - No formal certifications required; portfolio or project examples demonstrating Unity work are advantageous.
