Job Title: VP of Cybersecurity
Role Summary: Lead the end‑to‑end information security strategy for a high‑growth pre‑IPO tech company, reporting to the CISO. Responsible for shaping multi‑year security programs, protecting sensitive data, ensuring compliance, and embedding security throughout product, engineering, and operational lifecycles while maintaining hands‑on technical leadership in advanced cyber defense.
Expactations: • 12+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ senior leadership years across security domains. • Deep expertise in cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure), DevSecOps, SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, cryptography, and identity management. • Proven incident‑response leadership against nation‑state, ransomware, and APT threats. • Strategic vision to balance risk reduction with growth and innovation. • Executive communication skills for conveying complex security topics to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities: • Define and execute security programs for application, infrastructure, data, and compliance. • Lead threat‑management initiatives: detection, response, and hunting of advanced adversaries. • Oversee secure architecture design for cloud, container, and on‑prem environments. • Serve as executive lead during major incidents, ensuring containment, remediation, and communication. • Ensure regulatory compliance (SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) and promote security‑by‑design. • Partner with product, engineering, legal, and operations to embed security across development lifecycles. • Champion adoption of emerging technologies (zero trust, AI‑driven detection, cryptography). • Build, mentor, and scale high‑performing security engineering, ops, and risk teams.
Required Skills: • Cloud security (multicloud), DevSecOps, SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, IAM, cryptography, threat intelligence, incident response. • Strategic planning, risk management, compliance governance. • Executive‑level communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration. • Leadership, talent development, and organizational culture building.
Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related technical field. • Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, OSCP, or equivalent.
