Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain Java/Spring and Angular-based microservice applications within a loyalty platform, applying Agile practices and ensuring high coding standards. Expectations: Deliver end‑to‑end solutions that integrate with APIs, queues, and batch processes; collaborate on architecture and acceptance criteria; mentor peers; give accurate estimates and scope; continuously improve processes and code quality. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in all Agile phases: sprint planning, grooming, coding, and retrospectives. - Design and develop Java (JDK 11+), Spring Boot, and RESTful services for loyalty, accounting, or banking domains. - Build and maintain front‑end components using Angular 10+ and consume JSON APIs. - Implement and manage microservices on Oracle, AWS, or Azure environments. - Write and optimize multi‑table SQL queries (Oracle/PostgreSQL), including explanation plan tuning. - Integrate with messaging systems (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka Streams) and batch/queue workflows. - Containerize applications with Docker; deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters (kubectl, Docker Desktop). - Use CI/CD tools (Bitbucket/Git, Gradle, Bamboo) for build and release management. - Create and update configuration and business logic documentation. - Mentor and coach teammates; promote coding best practices and patterns. - Explain scope/estimates and close information gaps across cross‑functional teams. Required Skills: - 3+ years Java & Spring (JDK 11+, Spring Boot) development experience. - 3+ years front‑end web development, including Angular 10+. - 1+ year experience with RESTful services (JSON). - 1+ year experience building microservices in cloud (Oracle, AWS, Azure). - 1+ year SQL development (Oracle/PostgreSQL) and performance tuning. - Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodology. - Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka Streams). - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (kubectl), and CI/CD tools (Bitbucket, Gradle, Bamboo). Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred). - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate) are an asset.
