Job Description

**Job title:** Test Engineer **Role Summary:** Freelance Test Engineer responsible for validating the accuracy and reliability of a large-scale billing platform used by a national infrastructure organization. The role focuses on understanding business logic, developing and executing test scenarios, logging defects, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑quality testing work within a 12‑month contract (potentially extendable). - Act as the primary Dutch‑speaking point of contact for stakeholders. - Demonstrate proactive communication, teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure. **Key Responsibilities:** - Quickly grasp the organization’s billing system and associated processes. - Analyze invoicing rules and business logic. - Design, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and scenarios. - Log defects and track issues using ALM (HP Quality Center). - Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure thorough validation. - Contribute to QA processes within Agile/Scrum teams. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience as a Test Engineer in Agile/Scrum settings. - Strong test planning and scenario creation abilities. - Familiarity with ALM tools (HP Quality Center or equivalent). - ISTQB certification (mandatory). - Analytical mindset, detail‑oriented, and solution‑driven. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to quickly understand complex systems. **Desired (but not mandatory) Skills:** - Experience with UFT or Selenium. - Basic knowledge of Jenkins, Docker, or Git. - Familiarity with billing systems or large‑scale operational environments. **Required Education & Certifications:** - ISTQB certification (mandatory). - Relevant formal or equivalent education in software testing or related fields.
