**Job Title:**
Power BI SQL Developer
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data solutions that deliver actionable insight through Power BI dashboards and robust SQL back‑ends. Act as a senior subject‑matter expert on data architecture, query performance, and ETL processes across multiple relational databases.
**Expectations:**
- Senior‑level technical leader with 5+ years of professional experience in SQL‐centric development and BI reporting.
- Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data models, queries, and interactive reports.
- Strong ownership of end‑to‑end delivery: from data extraction, transformation, loading to visual reporting and user support.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, code, and maintain high‑performance SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions (Oracle PL/SQL, T‑SQL).
- Build, publish, and iterate Power BI reports and dashboards; develop DAX measures and calculated columns.
- Architect and implement ETL pipelines using SQL, Power Query, SSIS, or equivalent tools, integrating data from Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Azure SQL, and other sources.
- Perform data modeling (star/snowflake schemas), data warehousing, and performance tuning to support large data volumes.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data stewards, and end users to gather requirements, validate data quality, and conduct user acceptance testing.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation, coding standards, and best‑practice guidelines.
- Advise on infrastructure sizing, security controls, and governance policies for data assets.
**Required Skills:**
- Advanced SQL (query optimization, data manipulation, set operations).
- Oracle PL/SQL developer: procedures, functions, triggers, batch jobs.
- Experience with MySQL, SQL Server, Azure SQL, and other relational DBMS.
- Data modeling, dimensional design, and OLAP concepts.
- Power BI development: report creation, DAX, Power Query, data refresh scheduling.
- ETL/ELT proficiency (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar; scripting with Python, Perl, Shell).
- Database administration (schema design, indexing, backup/restore).
- Performance monitoring, query tuning, and resource‑management techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications preferred:
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst or Power BI Specialist.
- Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (optional).
- Continuous professional development in BI, data science, or cloud data platforms encouraged.
