Job Title: Head of Infrastructure & Security
Role Summary:
Lead the entire IT and security function of a high‑growth technology organization, establishing a secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient cloud and data environment that supports AI model development and deployment. Define strategy, govern operations, drive compliance, and build an high‑performance team while aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
Expectations:
- Build a fully integrated security program and achieve compliance certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Deliver cloud infrastructure that scales with model training demands while controlling spend.
- Automate core IT processes (onboarding, monitoring, incident response) to reduce manual effort.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence across the IT organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute IT infrastructure strategy, including cloud, networking, data management, and IT services.
- Design, deploy, and maintain AWS‑based environments using IaC, IAM, networking, and monitoring tools.
- Develop data pipelines, storage, and governance for large‑scale AI training.
- Implement and manage security architectures, including zero‑trust principles and compliance controls.
- Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations: procurement, support, hardware refresh, and employee onboarding.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a cross‑functional security and infrastructure team.
- Communicate technical strategy to senior leadership, translate business needs into technology solutions, and manage budgets.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years in IT with 3–4+ years in leadership roles in fast‑growth tech environments.
- Hands‑on experience architecting and managing AWS cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in IAM, VPCs, networking, and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proven track record building and scaling corporate security programs, leading at least one major compliance audit.
- Experience with automation tools (CI/CD, configuration management, security automation).
- Excellent stakeholder communication, budget management, and strategic thinking.
- Ability to work in ambiguous, fast‑paced settings and execute both strategy and hands‑on tasks.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
