Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer
Role Summary:
Provide security expertise for system architecture, design, and operational enhancements across multiple product and project groups. Ensure compliance with national security standards, manage vulnerability assessment, and mentor junior staff while supporting project planning and budgeting.
Expactations:
- Maintain Secret Level II clearance and eligibility for the Controlled Goods Program.
- Work hybrid (Mon, Tue & Thu onsite).
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer security-focused consultation on architecture, operational concepts, and system enhancements.
- Derive, document, and enforce security requirements, designs, and mechanisms aligned with customer and organizational standards.
- Create and upkeep system security documentation (specifications, threat models, test artifacts, vulnerability assessments).
- Verify security components within products and systems.
- Conduct threat assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Review vulnerability and compliance scan results, prioritize remediation actions.
- Contribute to security planning, budgeting, and project delivery.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of engineering or information systems experience.
- Proficiency in security governance, accreditation frameworks, and government project delivery processes.
- Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, problem‑solving, and project delivery abilities.
- Knowledge of NIST SP‑800 series, ISO/IEC, STIGs, CIS, SANS, and OWASP.
- Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, monitoring tools, vulnerability assessment, virtualization, and DLP technologies.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- CISSP certification.
- Preferred: Additional certifications such as CCSP, CISM, and experience with classified system accreditation, cross‑domain solutions, and multi‑domain environments.
