**Job title:** Cloud Engineer / DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure and containerized applications across AWS and GCP environments. Ensure continuous delivery pipelines, infrastructure as code, and robust monitoring/alerting to support production systems.
**Expectations:**
- Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads (Go, Java, Python).
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis CI.
- Apply IaC practices with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Configure, monitor, and optimize logging, metrics, and alerting systems (CloudWatch, Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑availability, secure, and highly performant services.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provision and manage AWS/GCP resources, ensuring compliance with best practices and security standards.
- Deploy, upgrade, and scale containerized applications on Kubernetes; debug production issues.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for code integration, testing, and deployment.
- Implement infrastructure as code for reproducible, versioned deployments.
- Design and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions across cloud platforms.
- Optimize database and caching layers (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis, ElasticSearch).
- Engage in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
- Document processes, architecture, and troubleshooting guides.
**Required Skills:**
- Linux administration (RedHat/CentOS, Debian/Ubuntu).
- Scripting: Python, Shell.
- Cloud: AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch) & GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Stackdriver).
- Container orchestration: Kubernetes (kubectl, Helm, cluster maintenance).
- Microservices stack: Go, Java, Python.
- Messaging & streaming: Kafka, Spark, Storm.
- Databases & cache: PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis/Elasticache, ElasticSearch.
- IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Google Deployment Manager.
- CI/CD: Jenkins, Travis CI, CircleCI, GitHub Actions.
- Monitoring/Logging: CloudWatch, Stackdriver, Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, Alert Logic.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory.
