Job Description
**Job Title:** Quantitative Developer (Python/AWS) **Role Summary:** Lead technical partner for portfolio managers and researchers, designing and building green‑field quantitative research, analytics, portfolio management, and trading systems. Deliver end‑to‑end solutions on AWS, collaborate directly with investment teams, and drive adoption of new tools in a meritocratic, low‑bureaucracy hedge fund environment. **Expectations:** - Own architecture and development of foundational quant platforms. - Translate investment team needs into robust, scalable technical designs. - Iterate quickly based on feedback and ensure high‑quality delivery. - Contribute to a modern tech stack and support internal skill‑development initiatives. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement next‑generation research platforms, analytics dashboards, and portfolio management tools. - Partner with PMs, researchers, and analysts to gather requirements and prioritize features. - Build, test, and deploy Python‑based solutions on AWS infrastructure. - Develop data‑intensive dashboards or basic UIs as needed. - Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior engineers. - Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve reliability. **Required Skills:** - 5+ years of professional Python development experience. - 2+ years as a Quant Developer or Software Engineer supporting researchers, PMs, or traders. - Strong software engineering fundamentals (OOP, data structures, algorithms). - Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) preferred. - Ability to design and deliver zero‑to‑one, data‑intensive applications. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field. - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus but not mandatory.
