Job Title: Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Applied AI
Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end development of AI workflows that power clinician-facing features. Design experiments, engineer prompts, tune LLMs, integrate models into production, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety, performance, and scalability of AI output.
Expectations: Deliver production‑ready ML systems, maintain reliable monitoring and alerting, influence product strategy through AI expertise, foster a culture of experimentation, and stay current with emerging ML tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prototype and build AI workflows; customize data pipelines, tune models, and engineer effective prompts.
- Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to design rigorous evaluation protocols ensuring quality and safety of AI content.
- Integrate AI components into production services; configure monitoring, reporting, and alerts for ongoing reliability.
- Optimize AI pipelines for performance, scalability, and long‑term maintainability.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, design experiments, and develop proof‑of‑concepts to validate ideas.
- Advise product, engineering, and data teams on AI strategy; scope projects, set milestones, and communicate progress.
- Mentor teammates on LLM lifecycle, prompt engineering, and best practices for model deployment.
- Continuously research and adopt new ML techniques to enhance product capabilities.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of machine‑learning engineering experience with a proven track record from prototype to production.
- Strong Python programming; advanced data analysis and data‑engineering expertise.
- Experience building data pipelines, deploying models on AWS (or comparable cloud) and serving them at scale.
- Proficiency with large‑language‑model workflows, retrieval pipelines, and vector databases.
- Ability to design experiments, evaluate models, and apply human‑in‑the‑loop evaluation processes.
- Comfortable with GitHub, Slack, Notion, Zoom; effective remote teamwork and communication.
- Fluent English, clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical, problem‑solving mindset with cross‑disciplinary thinking and a preference for clear, simple solutions.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
