Job Description

**Job Title:** Armed Level III Security Officer **Role Summary:** Provide armed security for a police headquarters facility, ensuring the safety of staff, property, and visitors. Maintain a visible presence, enforce access control, conduct patrols, and respond to incidents in accordance with police department protocols. **Expectations:** - Work full‑time shifts (day, night, graveyard, weekend, holiday). - Remain punctual, professional, and vigilant at all times. - Follow all relevant security standards, legal requirements, and department procedures. **Key Responsibilities:** - Monitor the front lobby, greet visitors, verify identification, and process entries. - Patrol the perimeter of the building and parking area to detect and deter unauthorized activity. - Use and maintain firearms responsibly while on duty. - Observe building layout, report suspicious behavior, and enforce access restrictions. - Record incidents, prepare reports, and document activities as required. - Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or security breaches. - Coordinate with police department officials and other security staff. **Required Skills:** - Excellent verbal communication and customer‑service skills. - Strong situational awareness, situational judgement, and conflict‑de‑escalation ability. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team under varying shift schedules. - Basic knowledge of firearms handling and safety protocols. - High reliability, integrity, and adherence to security procedures. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Valid Texas Public Safety Board (PSB) Level III Armed Security Officer License.
