Cloud Architecture Consultant
**Role Summary**
Design, plan, and implement Azure cloud solutions for large federal and enterprise clients, focusing on secure, scalable, and cost‑effective migrations, refactoring, and operational excellence.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 5 years of senior‑level Azure architecture experience.
- Proven ability to articulate technical solutions and strategy to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project milestones.
- Must sign a non‑disclosure agreement.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Advise client agencies on Azure architecture, security, and migration strategies.
2. Evaluate lift‑and‑shift versus refactoring approaches; recommend best‑fit solutions.
3. Design end‑to‑end cloud solutions aligned with business requirements.
4. Configure Azure services (Key Vault, Entra ID, Web Apps, Functions, containers, serverless, etc.) to meet agency objectives.
5. Build and demonstrate minimal viable product prototypes and conduct testing.
6. Create architecture documents, position papers, and technical design deliverables.
7. Plan high‑availability solutions, RPO/RTO, and disaster recovery within Azure.
8. Lead cloud security posture management: vulnerability remediation, perimeter defense, encryption, Zero Trust principles.
9. Collaborate with DevOps teams (Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise Cloud) to support CI/CD pipelines.
10. Work with on‑premises infrastructure teams to integrate hybrid environments.
**Required Skills**
- Deep expertise in Azure networking, storage, compute, and services.
- Experience with Azure Key Vault, Entra ID, Azure Functions, Web Apps/App Services, containers, microservices, and serverless architectures.
- Strong knowledge of Azure security models (Zero Trust, network segmentation, JIT access, conditional access).
- Ability to architect highly available, resilient solutions (RPO/RTO planning).
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, and related CI/CD tooling.
- Experience with relational and non‑relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Cosmos DB).
- On‑premises architecture and hybrid cloud integration.
- Advanced documentation and technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certification.
