Job Description
Job title: Lead DevOps Engineer Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and operation of cloud and data platform infrastructure, automate CI/CD pipelines, ensure high availability, and oversee migration initiatives. Expectations: Drive end‑to‑end DevOps maturity, deliver secure and scalable solutions across onshore and offshore teams, continuously improve automation and monitoring frameworks, and collaborate closely with client network and security teams. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Shell/Python scripting. - Provision, configure, and manage AWS infrastructure (VPC, subnets, security groups) for data platforms (Databricks, MWAA). - Implement IaC with Terraform, ensuring reproducible and version‑controlled deployments. - Design and execute Disaster Recovery for Databricks (Warm‑Standby) and other critical workloads. - Lead migration projects (Azure → AWS) involving infrastructure, databases, and data pipelines. - Collaborate with client network teams on cloud networking, connectivity, and security design. - Mentor and coordinate cross‑functional DevOps teams in Agile Scrum environments. - Proactively evaluate emerging DevOps tools and practices to enhance system reliability and performance. - Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and incident response procedures. - Provide on‑call support for production incidents and major releases. Required Skills: - Strong proficiency in AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation, Route 53). - Deep experience with Git, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and version control. - Hands‑on scripting in Shell and Python for automation tasks. - Expertise in IaC tools, especially Terraform. - Experience with Databricks, MWAA, and related big‑data platforms. - Cloud migration experience (Azure → AWS preferred). - Understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPC, SG, NACL, peering, transit gateway). - Familiarity with security best practices, monitoring, and observability (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana). - Agile Scrum practices and ability to lead distributed, cross‑functional teams. - Excellent communication, self‑starter attitude, and proactive mindset. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical field. - AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud architecture certification. - Terraform Associate (or equivalent IaC certification) preferred. - Valid certifications in security or data platform (e.g., Databricks, Azure) are advantageous.
