Job Title: Senior HRIS Analyst – Workday
Role Summary: Senior analyst responsible for configuring, implementing, and optimizing Workday HCM modules (Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, Core HCM) to enhance employee experience and align HR technology with business strategy. Collaborates with HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, and Operations to drive continuous improvement, data integrity, and process simplification.
Expectations: Lead end‑to‑end Workday projects, ensure compliance with collective bargaining and Canadian payroll requirements, maintain system stability through testing, releases, and audits, and provide expertise and training to support teams. Deliver high‑quality documentation and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Configure and enhance Workday modules (pay groups, wage grids, earning codes, memo codes, vacation rates, retro adjustments).
2. Assess downstream impacts of changes across reports, business processes, calculated fields, and security.
3. Create technical specifications, test plans, process documentation, and training materials.
4. Participate in Change Advisory Board processes and obtain approvals for system changes.
5. Deliver knowledge transfer to Tier 2 support and maintain documentation for business continuity.
6. Support system upgrades, releases, and validation testing, identifying opportunities for new features.
7. Conduct data integrity audits and ensure accuracy across Workday and related HR systems.
8. Resolve escalated ServiceNow tickets and contribute to internal knowledge base.
9. Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with HR and IT stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Deep experience with Workday configuration, implementation, and support (minimum 5 years).
- Expertise in Canadian Payroll, including unionized environments and collective agreement configurations (counters, wage progression, seniority).
- Advanced Excel proficiency (formulas, data manipulation).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and research capabilities.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot end‑user and interface issues effectively.
- Highly organized with strong ownership, accountability, and customer‑service orientation.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow ticketing and knowledge‑base maintenance.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Human Resources, or related field.
- Workday certifications (e.g., Workday HCM, Payroll) considered a plus.
