Job Description
**Job title** Business Development Manager – Operations & Maintenance (O&M) – PPP, Africa Region **Role Summary** Lead and execute the development of a sustainable O&M business portfolio for aviation and road projects across Africa. Develop and manage the regional pipeline, build stakeholder networks, and guide bid preparation while aligning with the company’s strategy and governance. **Expectations** - Drive new order intake and growth of O&M services. - Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to secure approvals and support. - Deliver measurable business outcomes in line with quarterly and annual targets. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Generate and close new O&M orders for aviation and road sectors; pursue rail/Mobility opportunities opportunistically. 2. Create, present, and obtain endorsement of a regional O&M roadmap aligned with corporate strategy. 3. Build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, consultants, and distributors in priority African countries. 4. Coordinate market prospecting, project identification, and pipeline development with relevant service lines. 5. Contribute to commercial action planning and deep‑enough understanding of the O&M ecosystem within Africa. 6. Prepare Go/No‑Go and Risk & Commitments Committee (RCC) decisions in liaison with the Subregion Business Line Director. 7. Lead or support tender production, including strategy, schematic design, costing and technical responses; act as Bid Manager for selected projects. 8. Share best practices in internal knowledge forums and collaborate with the O&M Service Line and innovation network. 9. Implement strategic marketing campaigns in line with global business line objectives. 10. Monitor and report business development performance; conduct competitive, environmental and political analyses to inform strategy. 11. Identify, propose and implement process improvements ensuring alignment with group governance and compliance. **Required Skills** - Proven track record in O&M business development (aviation and roads preferred). - Strong client‑relationship management and negotiation skills. - Expertise in bid preparation, commercial structuring, costing, and technical solution design. - Ability to develop business plans, models, and pipeline forecasts. - Experience with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office. - Knowledge of EH&S, legal, commercial, and accounting aspects of O&M projects. - Strategic thinker with cross‑functional collaboration abilities. - Fluent in English; additional languages spoken in target African markets a plus. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline. - Professional certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) or Business Development is a plus. - Regulatory knowledge of PPP and O&M frameworks within African markets is desirable.
