**Job Title** Night Shift Manager **Role Summary** The Night Shift Manager oversees all hospital operations from 20:00 to 07:00, ensuring seamless patient care, staff coordination, and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsible for planning shift coverage, managing resources, and maintaining quality and safety throughout the night. **Expectations** - Full compliance with national public service confidentiality and laicity regulations. - Continuous professional evaluation and adjustment of practices. - Availability on a DECT line and readiness to respond to any emergency. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop and transmit nightly staffing plans, ensuring at least one manager present each night. - Assess hospital capacity at shift start, communicate bed and resource availability to emergency and paramedical teams using ORBIS. - Allocate and reassign paramedical staff to maintain continuous care. - Conduct initial telephone briefing with ADG (hospital management) at shift start. - Visit all care sectors to interface with teams, disseminate institutional updates, and gather operational feedback. - Promote patient dignity and prevent abuse; address any safety or technical issues. - Analyse unit care load, manage absenteeism, and record replacement requests in HUBLO. - Resolve professional conflicts, accidents, violence, or other incidents, coordinating with ADG for escalations. - Coordinate patient and family needs, including admission, administrative procedures, and end‑of‑life care. - Participate in crisis management (technical outages, surges, security events). - Control rational use of supplies to limit unnecessary spending. - Mentor new night staff and support student interns. - At shift end, reassess bed capacity, position reserve staff, and produce a detailed duty report for day‑time leadership. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in office tools (Word, Excel) and hospital information systems (ORBIS, HUBLO, KALIWEB, Transport Manager). - Strong organisational and decision‑making abilities under pressure. - Knowledge of patient rights charters and applicable legislation. - Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict‑resolution skills. - Ability to maintain composure during emergencies and crises. **Required Education & Certifications** - State‑issued Nursing Supervisor (Cadre de santé) diploma or commitment to obtain it. - Valid French health‑care professional license. - Familiarity with national hospital regulations and public service statutes.
