Job Description

Job title: Software Engineer – Markets Role Summary: Design, build, and maintain high‑performance, reliable electronic trading systems that power the ElectronX marketplace, including exchange, clearinghouse, APIs, and market data pipelines. Expectations: Demonstrate strong engineering judgement, ownership, and communication skills. Deliver production‑ready code, mentor juniors, and participate in cross‑functional collaborations. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and develop robust electronic trading platforms with a focus on reliability, performance, and automation. - Maintain core platform components: exchange engine, clearinghouse, APIs, connectivity solutions, and tooling. - Build systems for recording, cataloging, analyzing, transforming, and publishing market and trading data. - Develop and maintain testing and monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and data accuracy. - Design with reliability and performance in mind; proactively automate system operations. - Collaborate with product, data, and operations teams to integrate infrastructure components. - Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and mentor junior engineers. Required Skills: - Programming: Go, Python, C++, or Rust (proficient). - Experience with electronic trading and market‑facing systems, including FIX‑based order entry and connectivity protocols. - Knowledge of algorithmic trading principles and execution strategies. - Strong grasp of networking protocols, database technologies, and data analysis techniques. - Autonomy, problem‑solving ability, and effective communication in a fast‑paced environment. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred). - 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, 1+ year in electronic trading contexts.
