**Job Title:** Deputy Chief Engineer - Software
**Role Summary:**
Lead the technical vision, development, and delivery of AI/ML, data management, decision systems, and mission planning software for the U.S. National Security ecosystem. Provide program leadership, customer interfacing, and business development while managing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring schedule and budget compliance.
**Expactations:**
- Hold U.S. citizenship and obtain/maintain a security clearance.
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience focused on AI/ML, cloud, or decision systems.
- Demonstrated leadership of high‑performing technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced, collaborative environment and drive innovation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Define and communicate technical vision and roadmap for assigned programs.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams (algorithms, software, cloud, data) through design, development, and integration.
- Manage program execution: schedule, budget, risk, and delivery milestones.
- Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and guidance to team members.
- Build and maintain relationships with external customers, partners, and stakeholders; advocate for company capabilities.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with Agile and DevOps best practices throughout the software lifecycle.
**Required Skills:**
- Software development lifecycle (SDLC) expertise; Agile, Scrum, DevOps.
- Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and data management solutions.
- Strong grasp of software architecture, design patterns, and tooling.
- Excellent written and oral communication; ability to present to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Analytical thinking with rapid assimilation of complex technical information.
- Leadership and team‑building skills; proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Security clearance eligibility (U.S. citizenship required).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified ScrumMaster, or similar) are advantageous but not mandatory.
