AI & Big Data Health Research Project Manager (R&D)
**Role Summary**
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary research initiatives leveraging artificial intelligence and big data in healthcare, with a focus on pathology and broader clinical domains. Serve as the central point of contact for scientific teams, external partners, and funding bodies, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and comply with regulatory standards.
**Expectations**
- Execute end‑to‑end project management for AI/Big Data research consortia (e.g., PORTRAIT).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (scientists, clinicians, IT) and external partners (academic, industry, regulatory).
- Deliver high‑quality project documentation, funding proposals, and progress reports in compliance with European and French regulations.
- Demonstrate proactive problem‑solving, strategic thinking, and the ability to challenge existing processes to drive innovation.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Define project scope, objectives, milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation plans.
- Organize and facilitate regular project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder reviews.
- Coordinate data acquisition, pseudonymization, and sharing pipelines in partnership with clinical and technical teams.
- Interface with IT/infra units to ensure secure data infrastructure and system integration.
- Manage budgets, track expenditures, and align financial plans with funding agency requirements (e.g., Bpifrance).
- Oversee regulatory compliance, consent management, and contractual agreements.
- Act as the program’s ambassador, communicating science, progress, and impact to internal and external audiences.
- Lead the preparation of grant applications and financial reporting.
- Monitor project KPIs, identify delays or scope changes, and implement corrective actions.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience in managing complex R&D projects with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; capability to handle technically challenging situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication; persuasive presentation skills.
- Fluent in English (technical proficiency); French language competency is a plus.
- Stakeholder (scientific, technical, and commercial) engagement expertise.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations (GDPR, national health data rules), and ethical considerations in medical research.
- Project management tools proficiency (MS Project, JIRA, Trello, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- High proactivity, initiative, and willingness to drive change.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Engineer degree or equivalent (Biomedical, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field).
- Project Management certification preferred (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- Additional certifications in data protection (e.g., Data Privacy Practitioner) or AI ethics are advantageous.
