**Job Title:** Senior Data Architect
**Role Summary:**
Designs, builds, and optimizes enterprise‑scale data solutions on Snowflake (AWS) while leading migration from legacy warehouses, ensuring data governance, security, and performance. Partners with data engineers, AI engineers, solution architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, scalable architectures aligned with the organization’s data strategy.
**Expectations:**
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture/engineering, preferably in insurance or financial services.
- Proven success delivering large‑scale Snowflake implementations and migrations (e.g., from Cloudera).
- Strong leadership in cross‑functional collaboration and technology evaluation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and implement Snowflake‑based data platforms on AWS, including lake‑house and Medallion designs.
- Lead migration of existing data warehouses to Snowflake, managing data conversion and workload re‑engineering.
- Design and orchestrate data acquisition pipelines using AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, and DBT.
- Optimize Snowflake environments for performance, cost, and scalability (query tuning, resource management).
- Define and enforce data governance, security, and compliance policies (metadata, quality, retention).
- Develop data models, data products, and Streamlit applications leveraging Snowflake ML/LLOps.
- Evaluate and recommend data technology platforms, governance suites, and security tools.
- Document architecture, data flows, and transformation logic for knowledge sharing.
**Required Skills:**
- Snowflake (advanced usage, SnowPro Advanced preferred)
- AWS services: Snowflake, Glue, ECS, IAM, S3
- ETL/ELT orchestration: Apache Airflow, DBT, Informatica (IDMC, PowerCenter, BDM)
- Data modeling, SQL, Python or Java scripting
- Performance tuning, cost optimization, resource management in Snowflake
- Data governance and metadata tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica)
- Experience with lake‑house, Medallion architecture, data mesh concepts
- Migration experience from Cloudera, Redshift, or similar platforms
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- SnowPro Advanced Certification (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) advantageous.
