Job Description
Job Title: Senior Kubernetes Engineer Role Summary: Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud-native Kubernetes environments across Azure and AWS. Spearhead IaC, CI/CD, and GitOps practices while enforcing strict security hardening, authentication, and compliance standards. Expectations: - 10+ years in infrastructure/network engineering, 5+ in Azure/AWS cloud. - Proven record of architecting compliant, high‑availability cloud solutions. - Adherence to DoD security standards (IAT III, Secret clearance; Top Secret as required). - Minimal travel (<15%). Key Responsibilities: - Lead Kubernetes cluster design, Helm/Kustomize templating, and GitOps workflows. - Implement and maintain Terraform IaC, Ansible configurations, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Azure DevOps, Ansible). - Hardening of servers per STIG and enterprise policies; enforce RBAC and multi‑factor authentication. - Optimize Windows/Linux workloads, integrate Microsoft Entra ID/AD DS, Docker containers. - Engineer network security: BGP, IP subnetting, NSGs, Palo Alto firewall rules, load balancers, CDNs, DNS. - Maintain cloud‑agnostic tools and multi‑cloud consistency. - Collaborate with security and compliance teams for continuous monitoring and audits. Required Skills: - Kubernetes administration, Helm, Kustomize, GitOps. - Terraform, Ansible, Docker, CI/CD pipelines. - Azure/AWS advanced certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Solutions Architect Associate/SysOps). - Windows/Linux system administration. - Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory. - Network engineering (BGP, CDN, routing, firewall, load balancing). - Security hardening (STIG, RBAC, MFA). - Clear communication and documentation. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field. - IAT III certification (CISSP preferred). - Active DoD Secret clearance; Top Secret clearance possible.
