Job title: Intern, Micro-Computing (Stagiaire, en micro-informatique)
Role Summary: Provide first‑line technical support for desktop, mobile, and peripheral devices across corporate offices, retail stores, and distribution centers. Configure and maintain workstations, printers, audio‑visual equipment, telephony systems, and network connections according to IT standards.
Expectations: Entry‑level or recent graduate in IT, Computer Science, or related field. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, produce clear documentation, and communicate effectively with end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver onsite and remote support for office equipment, mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, Windows tablets), and printers.
- Install, configure, and maintain audio‑visual systems for video conferencing and other collaborative tools.
- Troubleshoot telephony hardware and software, including physical phone systems and VoIP configuration.
- Assist users across multiple sites (Quebec, Ottawa region) in utilizing IT systems and devices.
- Deploy and set up computing equipment per information‑systems standards.
- Author user instructions, technical reports, procedures, and documentation.
- Collaborate with IT teams during corporate events (shareholder meetings, executive briefings).
- Identify and resolve issues related to desktop, network, mobile devices, and infrastructure.
- Escalate unresolved problems to supervisors and recommend improvements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows OS, Ethernet, and Wi‑Fi networking.
- Experience configuring and supporting iPad, iPhone, and Windows tablets.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑resolution abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication for documentation and user support.
- Time‑management and multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
- Customer‑service orientation and quick learning of new technologies.
Required Education & Certifications
- Current student or recent graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are advantageous but not mandatory.
