Job title: Principal Cyber Researcher – DV Cleared
Role Summary: Lead advanced technical investigations in vulnerability discovery, reverse engineering, and embedded systems. Design rapid prototypes, analyze network protocols, and uncover emerging cyber threats to inform national security cyber capabilities. Manage small research teams, shape strategy, and support business development.
Expectations:
- Hold an active Enhanced DV/UKIC Clearance.
- Deliver actionable research findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Own end‑to‑end research projects and mentor junior researchers.
- Contribute to strategic planning and commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct deep‑dive research into software, firmware, and hardware vulnerabilities.
- Design, prototype, and test novel cyber capabilities using platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or virtual environments.
- Analyze network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, ICMP) and system behavior to identify weaknesses.
- Lead and coordinate small research teams, monitor progress, and report to senior leadership.
- Document methodologies, findings, and recommendations in clear, concise reports.
- Support strategic planning, operational management, and business development initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Programming: C, C++, Python.
- Linux systems administration, command‑line proficiency, system configuration.
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP stack, DNS, HTTP, ICMP).
- Rapid prototyping experience (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, virtual machines).
- Analytical, methodical problem‑solving.
- Project management from concept to delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Active Enhanced DV/UKIC Clearance.
