Job title: Media Production Systems Architect (T & I) (Telework/Hybrid)
Role Summary: Architect and design future media production infrastructure for a global broadcaster, focusing on media asset management (PAM/MAM), studio automation, and digital workflows. Lead technical strategy, collaborate with enterprise architecture teams, and advise media, TV, radio, and web units on emerging technology adoption.
Expactations: Deliver scalable, highly available 24/7 solutions that align with business goals. Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement of media pipelines through innovative solutions and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and document media production systems (PAM, MAM, studio automation, broadcast switchers).
- Develop roadmaps and technical specifications that integrate audio/video, cloud, virtualization, and storage solutions.
- Conduct technical assessments of new media technologies (DMF, MXL, SMPTE‑2110, Generative AI).
- Provide expert consulting and coaching to TV, radio, and web production teams and IT staff.
- Collaborate with software, media, and information‑security architects to ensure alignment of architecture, security, and governance.
- Optimize infrastructure for performance, reliability, manageability, scalability, and reuse.
- Translate technical innovations into business‑readable deliverables for senior leadership.
Required Skills:
- 4+ years of media/broadcast technology architecture or design experience.
- Deep knowledge of audio/video production, post‑production workflows, codecs, file wrappers, and media processing.
- Hands‑on experience with Avid Interplay MAM, Dalet, Adobe Suite, Media Composer, and related production software.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and virtualization, networking, storage fundamentals.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to design and deploy highly available, scalable 24/7 environments.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related IT field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) qualification is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in English (Advanced reading, speaking; Intermediate writing).
- Proficiency in French (Advanced reading, speaking; Intermediate writing).
