Job Description

**Job Title:** Embedded Software Engineer III **Role Summary:** Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded applications for low‑power microcontrollers in industrial settings. Serve as a technical lead, collaborate with hardware engineers, and ensure production‑ready code and documentation following professional SDLC practices. **Expectations:** - Work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet sprint deadlines with minimal oversight. - Deliver robust, fault‑tolerant firmware and promptly escalate issues. - Participate in code reviews, cross‑team planning, and knowledge sharing. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, implement, and validate embedded software on diverse microcontroller platforms. - Port existing firmware to new hardware and create automated test suites where feasible. - Integrate and verify deliverables from subcontractors. - Coordinate hardware interface bring‑up with electronic engineers. - Maintain source control, build processes, testing, documentation, and release management. - Conduct manual system testing and demonstrate completed work in sprint reviews. - Mentor junior engineers and act as technical lead on assigned projects. **Required Skills:** - 7+ years professional experience in embedded C/C++ development (OOP required). - Strong knowledge of USB, I²C, SPI, UART, and interrupt service routines. - Proficiency with Git/Bitbucket, Visual Studio (or equivalent IDE). - Hands‑on electronics and bare‑metal bring‑up experience. - Excellent English written and verbal communication; strong teamwork and self‑direction. **Preferred Skills:** - Build‑system engineering (e.g., CMake, Make). - Scripting in shell or Python. - Experience using Jira or similar Agile tools. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field **or** 12+ years equivalent professional experience.
