**Job Title:** Data Scientist (Contract)
**Role Summary:**
Seasoned data science professional responsible for extracting actionable insights, building and maintaining analytics infrastructure, and driving business impact through localized reporting and AI-driven solutions for Canadian operations. Works cross‑functionally with product, engineering, and senior leadership to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and strategic decision‑making.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Define and track key performance metrics for Canadian service offerings (Full Service, Business Tax, Assist & Review, Audit Coach, Audit Defense).
- Partner with operations, product, and engineering leaders to deliver insights that improve customer experience and reduce friction in both English and French markets.
- Automate and maintain localized reporting dashboards for real‑time decision‑making year‑round and during tax season.
- Extend core dashboards and models to incorporate Canadian taxonomy, metric definitions, and workflow requirements.
- Lead development of segmentation frameworks to guide proactive support strategies.
- Optimize data pipelines and ensure scalable infrastructure for the Canadian expert support ecosystem.
- Analyze channel efficiency (chat, async, voice) to inform staffing, routing, and tooling decisions.
- Support operational planning, launch readiness, backlog management, and change management aligned with Canadian compliance.
- Establish data‑driven KPI targets, perform root‑cause analysis, and create automated processes for stakeholders.
- Produce clear narratives that translate complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Aggregate Voice of Customer (VOC) signals from surveys, chat, and call data to shape customer journeys and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to align on strategy, service quality, and customer success.
**Required Skills:**
- Advanced SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and pipeline development.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
- Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics, modeling, and automation (preferred).
- Familiarity with big‑data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Spark, Databricks) (preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and Generative AI.
- Strong quantitative problem‑solving and end‑to‑end analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities for diverse audiences.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior talent.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Scientist, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Big Data certifications) are a plus.
