**Job title:** Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
**Role Summary:**
Lead the company’s technical vision, ensuring operational excellence across engineering teams while actively supporting business development, pre‑sales, and project delivery. Drive innovation, thought leadership, and a culture of continuous improvement, enabling sustainable growth in data‑driven software, AI, and cloud solutions.
**Expectations:**
- Develop and execute a forward‑looking technology strategy that differentiates the organization in industrial digital‑transformation markets.
- Act as the senior technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business value.
- Champion knowledge sharing, recruitment of high‑quality talent, and mentorship across engineering teams.
- Foster a culture of quality, scalability, and security across all software and data products.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Thought Leadership & External Visibility**
- Identify high‑value technical opportunities that create competitive differentiation, especially in AI integration.
- Conduct ongoing technology surveillance and embed emerging trends into strategic plans.
- Represent the organization at conferences, webinars, podcasts, and trade shows.
- Publish technical content (articles, case studies, benchmarks) to enhance credibility.
2. **Positioning & Pre‑Sales**
- Collaborate with Sales on prospect qualification, technical assessments, and risk identification.
- Lead initial client engagements, demonstrating the technical vision and value proposition.
- Shape solution architecture, technology choices, and workload estimates for pre‑sales offers.
- Contribute to go/no‑go decisions, mitigating risks and reinforcing the company’s market position.
3. **Technical Excellence**
- Establish and evolve best practices, standards, and reference tech stacks.
- Facilitate coaching, knowledge‑sharing sessions, and workshops for engineering teams.
- Own the recruitment and evaluation process for senior technical talent.
- Promote the use of AI and modern development practices (CI/CD, DevOps) to improve product quality and delivery speed.
4. **Project Delivery**
- Provide hands‑on guidance during scoping, design, and critical project milestones.
- Review and challenge architectures and technology choices on strategic initiatives.
- Support project managers and technical leads in resolving high‑impact issues and making key decisions.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong software engineering background, preferably from consulting, IT services, or tech startup experience.
- Deep knowledge of modern architectures: data pipelines, AI/ML workflows, cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP), CI/CD, DevOps practices.
- Ability to articulate a strategic technical vision while maintaining credible technical discourse.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in both French and English.
- Proven leadership capacity to rally diverse teams around a shared technical vision.
- Passion for continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and cross‑functional collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
- Optional: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, Certified ScrumMaster, or equivalent) that demonstrate expertise in cloud, architecture, or dev‑ops.
