**Job Title** Retail Field Intern – Agronomy Assistant **Role Summary** Provide hands‑on support to agronomists in field scouting, soil sampling, data collection, and grower engagement. Compile and interpret agronomic data to recommend crop inputs, aid in field day planning, and uphold safety and regulatory standards while building relationships with growers and internal teams. **Expectations** - Complete field tasks accurately and within scheduled timelines. - Assist in preparing reports and recommendations for crop management. - Maintain professional communication with growers and colleagues. - Adhere to all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Conduct crop scouting and collect soil/plant samples under agronomist guidance. 2. Analyze sample data and translate findings into actionable fertilizer, pesticide, and input recommendations. 3. Support the organization and execution of field days, grower meetings, and educational events. 4. Manage field equipment and ensure proper maintenance and reporting of any issues. 5. Foster positive relationships with growers, addressing questions and facilitating follow‑ups. 6. Document all activities and data in company systems accurately. 7. Represent the company’s culture of care and comply with Hazardous Materials and EH&S standards. **Required Skills** - Basic agronomy or plant science knowledge. - Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Team collaboration and relationship‑building. - Ability to work independently in outdoor field conditions. - Safe handling and operation of field equipment. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar data entry tools. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment in a 2‑year or 4‑year university/college program in Agriculture or a related field. - Expected graduation December 2026 or later. - Valid Canadian driver’s license (full, Class 5 or equivalent). - No specific certifications required, but knowledge of EH&S regulations and industry best practices is preferred.
