DevOps Cloud Engineer – GCP & Kubernetes
**Role Summary:**
Design, build, and operate a scalable, secure, multi‑tenant cloud platform hosted on Google Cloud Platform. Deliver self‑service patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps workflows that enable developers worldwide to focus on application logic. Lead platform engineering efforts, integrating container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, and observability across shared services.
**Expectations:**
- Own end‑to‑end platform components that support enterprise workloads.
- Drive continuous integration, delivery, and infrastructure automation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align on architecture, security, and performance.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and maintain Kubernetes clusters and Docker runtime environments.
- Author and manage Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize templates for cloud-native services.
- Build and refine GitOps‑centric CI/CD pipelines using Git, CI/CD tools, and workflow automation.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for multi‑tenant, multi‑region deployments.
- Enforce cloud security best practices, including secrets management, network segmentation, and RBAC.
- Write production‑grade code in Go, Java, or Python to support platform tooling and automation.
- Work with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver platform enhancements, ensuring uptime and compliance.
**Required Skills:**
- 8+ years in DevOps or Cloud Platform Engineering.
- 3+ years hands‑on experience with Kubernetes (clusters, operators, Helm charts).
- 3+ years practical use of Terraform, Helm, or Kustomize for IaC.
- 3+ years designing and integrating CI/CD pipelines (GitOps preferred).
- 5+ years coding in Go (preferred), Java, or Python.
- Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, IAM).
- Experience with observability frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Knowledge of cloud application security and compliance in regulated environments is desirable.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Professional certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, CKAD, or Terraform Associate are highly valued.
