Job Description
**Job Title**: Physical Security Specialist **Role Summary** Provide end‑to‑end technical support and design services for United States Army Offices (USAOs) to ensure secure operations of physical security systems. Coordinate with IT, Personnel Security, and third‑party vendors to diagnose, resolve, and document system issues, develop scope of work, and integrate security requirements into facility design and renovations. Conduct security surveys, inspections, and evaluations across multiple districts and serve as the primary point of contact for security system maintenance and vendor management. **Expectations** – Minimum 4 years of experience in physical security systems design, engineering, programming, or installation, or equivalent academic background. – Proven ability to manage multiple security projects concurrently. – Strong communication and documentation skills, including the ability to produce detailed design packages, SOWs, and inspection reports. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Diagnose and troubleshoot physical security systems (PACS, IDS, IP‑CCTV, intercoms, barriers, duress alarms, x‑ray, metal detectors). 2. Create and manage scopes of work, service tickets, and vendor requests to restore system functionality. 3. Monitor Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) network status and coordinate resolution with IT and monitoring services. 4. Develop security design packages, drawings, and project schedules using AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Project. 5. Conduct physical security surveys, inspections, and generate evaluation reports with cost estimates and recommendations. 6. Coordinate with facilities management, GSA, contractors, and field offices on security matters during construction and renovation. 7. Provide daily inspections of perimeter portals and entry systems; document findings and recommend corrective actions. 8. Serve as the point of contact for security vendors, overseeing maintenance contracts, service history, and vendor compliance. 9. Support the development of Statements of Work, Sources Sought, and specifications for critical system upgrades. 10. Train and advise Justice Protective Service Officers on system operation procedures. **Required Skills** – Expertise in networked access control, CCTV, intercom, barriers, and alarm systems. – Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and related design software. – Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and project‑management abilities. – Effective stakeholder communication and documentation skills. – Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams. **Required Education & Certifications** – Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field **OR** 4 years of equivalent professional experience. – Security certifications (e.g., ASIS Certified Protection Professional, CISSP, CISA) are preferred but not mandatory.
