Job Description
**Job title**: Scrum Master **Role Summary**: Facilitate and coach cross‑functional teams in Agile delivery, ensuring iterative planning, execution, and continuous improvement. Act as the link between Product Owners and development teams, drive effective retrospectives, and maintain clear delivery metrics and reporting. **Expectations**: - Lead Agile ceremonies (planning, daily stand‑up, sprint review, demo, retrospective, backlog refinement). - Guide teams on estimation, sprint commitment, blocking issue removal, and dependency management. - Report on sprint burndown, velocity, backlog health, and quality metrics to stakeholders. - Participate in user research and usability testing as part of digital service delivery. - Maintain required security clearances (Enhanced Security Clearance, and potentially Top Secret) and comply with provincial data access protocols. **Key Responsibilities**: - Coach teams on Agile principles, policies, and processes. - Facilitate planning, stand‑ups, reviews, demos, retrospectives, and ad‑hoc sessions. - Mentor Product Owners on release planning, road‑mapping, and reporting. - Maintain and report delivery metrics (sprint burndown, velocity, backlog status). - Ensure delivery of services and deliverables through coaching and guidance. - Participate in user research, usability testing, and digital service activities. - Keep up‑to‑date with evolving project scopes and adjust services accordingly. - Provide all necessary equipment and secure system access in compliance with provincial requirements. **Required Skills**: - Strong knowledge of Scrum framework, Agile ceremonies, and iterative delivery. - Proven coaching and facilitation skills. - Experience with Agile metrics (burndown, velocity, backlog management). - Familiarity with Microsoft Teams (primary virtual meeting tool). - Excellent communication and stakeholder management. - Ability to work remotely with occasional in‑person attendance. - Understanding of public‑sector digital delivery practices is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) preferred. - Current criminal record check and accepted security clearance (Enhanced Security Clearance or higher, as required).
