Job Description

Job title: Network Engineer Role Summary: Support, monitor, and optimize LAN/WAN network infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, configure devices, and maintain security and performance. Expectations: • Native Dutch speaker, fluent in English (French a plus) • Participate in on‑call rotation post‑training Key Responsibilities: - Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure - Install and support network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls) - Monitor performance and forward incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis - Provide technical support, resolve or escale network problems - Collaborate on network projects: upgrades, migrations, and change requests - Manage incident tickets (ServiceNow, Jira) - Document configurations, changes, and procedures - Monitor events and handle incidents from systems and customers - Participate in standby/on‑call rotation after training Required Skills: Hard Skills: - Basic routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP) - Cisco Catalyst switches, VLAN configuration - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP fundamentals - Firewall, VPN, network access control basics - Troubleshooting: ping, traceroute, Wireshark, packet analyzers - Monitoring tools (CheckMK) - ITSM and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira) - Remote support tools (TeamViewer, Teams, Remote Desktop) Soft Skills: - Problem‑solving, customer focus, communication, curiosity, resilience Required Education & Certifications: - Preferred: bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related field - Preferred: Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certification (if applicable)
