**Job title:** Senior Datacenter Technician/Lead
**Role Summary:** Lead and manage all aspects of datacenter operations, including design, deployment, maintenance, and performance optimization of server, networking, virtualization, and storage infrastructure. Serve as the primary technical authority for on‑site teams and cross‑functional stakeholders, ensuring uptime, reliability, and compliance with industry best practices.
**Expactations:**
- 5–10 years of proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing datacenter environments.
- Hands‑on expertise with server hardware, networking equipment, virtualization platforms, storage solutions, firewalls, and backup systems.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing and mentoring technicians and engineers.
- Strong problem‑solving skills for complex, multi‑domain technical incidents.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, deploy, and maintain datacenter hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Configure and support servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and storage arrays; implement backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
- Lead preventative maintenance schedules, capacity planning, and performance tuning initiatives.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues with minimal downtime.
- Oversee on‑call rotations, night and weekend shifts, and fault‑resolution workflows.
- Mentor junior staff, conduct training, and enforce standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, security, and application teams on new initiatives and migrations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and change management.
**Required Skills:**
- Extensive experience with datacenter infrastructure (servers, networking, storage, virtualization).
- Proficiency in configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise hardware and software.
- Leadership and team‑management capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+, CCNA/CCNP, VMware Certified Professional, or similar are advantageous.
