Job Description

**Job Title** Snowflake Data Engineer **Role Summary** Build, maintain, and optimize Snowflake data warehouses and associated ETL/ELT pipelines for a platform modernization project. Ensure high performance, secure data access, cost‑effective resource usage, and compliance with governance standards. **Expectations** - 9‑12 month contract, onsite. - Deliver functional Snowflake environments, documented processes, and performance tuning within agreed timelines. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, implement, and manage Snowflake warehouses and compute resources. - Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines following Snowflake best practices. - Implement and enforce data security protocols and access controls. - Optimize queries and warehouse performance; monitor cost and resource utilization. - Create and maintain architecture and process documentation. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to capture data requirements and deliver solutions. - Apply data governance policies and ensure regulatory compliance. **Required Skills** - Proficiency with Snowflake (data modeling, warehouse configuration, query optimization). - Experience in ETL/ELT development (SQL, data integration tools). - Strong understanding of data security and access control in Snowflake. - Ability to monitor and optimize warehouse costs. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts. - Understanding of data governance and security frameworks. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field. - SnowPro Core certification (preferred).
