Hardware Asset Manager
We're looking for a Hardware Asset Manager (9 months fixed term contract) to join our Infrastructure and Service Operations team at Willmott Dixon. Although the IT team are based at our head office in Letchworth Garden City, this role can be done as either a hybrid, or a remote role. Occasional travel to Letchworth and other sites may be required according to business needs.
The Senior Hardware Asser Manager will be responsible for the monitoring and control of hardware assets so that they are properly inventoried, maintained and disposed of, ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures. You will ensure that you have documented and Embedded an end-to-end process to provide full visibility of our IT assets for our organisation.
Within this role you will work collaboratively with a variety of IT teams and cross functional stakeholders (eg Finance & Construction businesses) to establish, enforce and monitor hardware asset management processes, standard and controls. You will ensure that IT assets are used in the most effective and efficient manner by optimising costs and performance and supporting IT asset audits and reporting.
The role
Some of the duties/responsibilities of this role will include:
Define an IT hardware asset strategy.
Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all hardware assets, ensuring accurate tracking from acquisition through to disposal.
Plan and manage the full life cycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment usage, maintenance, upgrades, and retirement.
Collaborate to source hardware and related IT services ensuring value for money.
Analyse IT asset data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with other IT teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with asset management, such as hardware failures, data breaches, or security vulnerabilities.
Maintain accurate records of all assets, provide regular reports on asset status and utilisation, and ensure documentation is up to date.
Create and maintain IT asset management policies, procedures, and best practice in accordance with ISO27001 certification
Ensure that stock rooms are regularly audited and reported on to ensure that we have accurate information on volume and cost
Responsible for auditing assets and take ownership of actions
Maintain a HAM risk register
Proactively identify, define and implement continuous improvements for HAM at all levels of Willmott Dixon
Essential and Desirable Criteria
Ideally you will have some of the following experience:
Essential
Strong knowledge of hardware life cycle management
Experience working with asset management tools and platforms.
Excellent organisational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Previous experience of using ServiceNow
Knowledge of ITIL framework and IT asset management best practice
Proficient with asset management software
Effective communication and people skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experienced in creating excellent quality documentation.
Desirable
Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and to influence stakeholders with data driven insights.
Background in conducting IT asset audits and reconciliations.
Prince 2 Foundation

Service Desk Analyst - FTC
Willmott Dixon are looking for a Service Desk Analyst to join our busy IT Service Desk Team. This role can be offered on a 9 month fixed term contract basis. Our Head Office is located in Letchworth Garden City. The role can be done on either a hybrid or remote working basis but be aware there may be the very odd occasion when you are required to come into the office.
Reporting to the Digital Workplace Manager, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and technical support across Willmott Dixon's business. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth IT operations and customer satisfaction, as you will serve as the first point of contact for end users experiencing technical issues.
The Role
What do I do?
Customer Support:
I am the face and voice of IT for our end users, providing timely and effective solutions through various channels including telephone, self-service, chat, and email.
I understand my customers' needs and adapt my approach to ensure their satisfaction.
I take ownership of IT issues and collaborate with the wider IT team to provide solutions that are both cost-effective and fit for purpose.
I prioritize incoming incidents and requests, ensuring that each one is handled efficiently and in a timely manner.
Collaborate:
I work closely with the IT teams to deliver outstanding service, sharing information and best practices.
I handle incidents in line with the Incident Management process, keeping all parties informed with clear and accurate updates.
I participate in key tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of IT services, including Request Fulfilment, Change Requests, Major Incident Management, and proactive Problem Management.
I function as a liaison between the Service Desk and other IT teams to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
Performance Metrics:
I manage and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to my role, constantly identifying areas for improvement to exceed service expectations.
I maintain high standards in documenting processes, creating clear and concise knowledge articles to assist in service delivery.
I provide regular reports to management and stakeholders on process performance, compliance, and exceptions.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
Essential:
Experience in a customer service-focused role, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize incidents effectively, using available resources to solve problems.
Self-directed with initiative, capable of solving practical problems with limited supervision.
Comfortable providing telephone-based customer support.
Desirable:
Familiarity with ITIL principles and experience with the ServiceNow ticketing system.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows 11.
Previous experience on an IT service desk.

Our IT team are currently recruiting for a Digital Engagement Coordinator to work with the wider digital engagement team ensuring our IT messages, projects and services are communicated and delivered effectively to the business. The IT team are based at our head office in Letchworth Garden City, but this could be done as a remote or hybrid role, but due to the nature of the role there may be some travel required to other Willmott Dixon offices dependent upon business needs.
The digital engagement function is going from strength to strength. The combined skill sets of the service delivery managers and digital engagement principal have resulted in a strong customer-focussed team, assuring IT services are meeting business requirements and delivering technical and consultative support for communications/engagement activities.
Demand for this service is increasing, so we need to increase support for IT project change and work more closely with the business to ensure our projects land well and are adopted to realise the business benefits.
Within this role you will also provide digital upskilling support to our project teams as well as working closely with our new central marketing function in Construction, who will be using our digital engagement services to support their work.
The Role
Within this role you will be responsible for the delivery of our Digital Communications services including:
* Digital training and adoption service - supporting the creation of digital training, guides and tips in support of any IT projects/digital initiatives across the business.
* Communications platform service - contributing to the development and maintenance of IT pages and communications.
* Virtual event support service - delivery of technical support for any events (virtual/hybrid/F2F that require technology support).
* Digital media creation service - supporting communications and marketing teams with the creation of digital media (such as CEO business update videos, factsheets etc).
* Viva Engage service - helping drive digital content across the Viva Engage channel (such as IT Top Tips and M365 functionality updates).
* IT Project Communications and Engagement Service - support with IT project communications and engagement planning, work closely with business stakeholders and central marketing and communications functions.
